There's a quote I recently read by Howard Thurman that says:
"Don't ask what the world needs.
Ask what makes you come ALIVE, and go do it.
Because what the world needs, is more people who have come alive."
What makes me come alive?
Travelling, especially to warm places in winter time.
Time off work.
Cooking.
Reading.
Spending time with good friends.
My son.
Being well rested.
Jumping into a warm lake in the summer time.
It is a great question, but the truth is that a lot of the things that make me come alive require money, which requires me to work, and thus it is a balance of having to endure the sometimes mundane in order to get to do those things that make me feel alive. It still seems like a question for the privileged of the world.
